MILF
I just saw a posting on Craigslist for women who would like to model for MILF sportswear. You'd just need to send in a snapshot and a brief essay about yourself and why you'd be good for the campaign. This is good clean, slightly frisky, but non-porno stuff. I'll have to look for that link....PLEASE don't look at the obvious addresses because those sites are XXX and you will get a shock.

Kinky Curly Pudding
Just saw it while surfing. I've used Ms. Jessie's Curly Pudding to no avail. Wuz wondering if this is the same type of product or is it made for coarse/kinky hair. Ms. Jessie's product is kinda OK while the hair wet, but heaven help you when it dries out! I liked the buttercream (also with wet hair), when twisting & braiding.

Need Quick Cash? For Real, For Real!
Believe it or not, you can earn some quick cash on the net if you know where to go. It takes a great knack for organization, and an adventurous spirit...but it's for real. You know those offers for FREE ipods, FREE plasmas, FREE Cash, and Free Trials for Hydroderm (and other beauty products) that arrive every 5 minutes into your spam folder? Or they pop up at you when you least expect it? DON"T FILL THEM OUT!!! That's a valuable "green" that you can barter on certain freebie sites.
If you visit active freebie sites like anything4free.com, people will pay you cash instantly in PayPal. No, you're not gonna get rich here...the pay is usually $10-$60 for completing those advertising referral offers. Why? How? Someone finally figured out a way to get something for nothing. Intrigued? Project PayDay explains the ins and outs all very nicely. The folks doling out the cash are trying to earn every imaginable high end free item such as cash, giftcards, TVs, laptops, Ipods, Wii, designer bags, and so on.
There are rules to this game and limitations so that one person doesn't wipe out the Free Ipod supply, so once you get started you need others to refer. Example. If you need 3 referrals to get a free I-pod or 5 referrals in order to get $500 in Paypal, then you can try to get it within your circle of friends or family, or you can go to a freebie site and meet others like you who know the deal. This community of traders actively trade referrals in exchange for "greens" on other sites, cash, or if you have neither other goods & services (clean stuff).
The catch is that you need to keep track of your offers so that you know when to pull out if it's not something that you really want. If you took on a 7 day free trial which normally give you 14 days to try something out, then cancel before that time and there is no upfront investment or loss to either you or to your trading partner. I saw a woman on the site who is trying to get enough money for a car. There are several other methods for making money along these lines in Project Payday so don't miss out!
Check it out...the best deal is that it's all FREE! It's FUN too!!

Guilty Pleasures...
Why do I feel the need to smoke a cigarette after each episode of "I Love New York"? I don't even smoke! That show is nuts and I love it! I've seen hateful comments around the web about the show's star Tiffany Patterson, but we watch her because she brings the drama. She made us all want to choke her out on "Flava of love" because she brought the drama.
I like that she is comfortable in her own skin, and that she is the center of attention. While this is not a show for minors, it's good for TV that a regular, round the way looking chick can get love. Has the bachelorette put out a show with a Sistah in search of love? Nah...wait, is that show even still on?

My failing conversion to a natural hair style Pt2
So not even two years later I found myself back in the same place where I was unsatisfied with perms and wanted to try something different. BUT I wanted to look styled and not like Mfufu (sorry).
Also, and this is very important, I felt compelled to go natural, because the underground "grassroots" natural hair movement that makes it all seem so easy and insists that this is the only right way for black hair had gotten to me. I felt like a traitor to my blackness for seeking the easy way out...almost like I was suicidal with the lye! Each time I stood before the mirror applying Motions to my new growth I felt inadequate because I lacked the fortitude to make this work.
So, in early 2006, I cut the perm out of my hair and embarked upon the natural hair path AGAIN. Each time I have to comb my hair I wonder what the heck am I trying to do and I wonder if will I ever look "coifed" again. I can make it look passable around the house (God bless my husband for never commenting), but not outside in public.
Let's be clear, I do not hate myself or my hair, or being black or anything crazy like that. It's just a nuisance. What I need from my Sistren is not recrimminations, but self-help group style support and encouragement to stay this path so that I too can see the benefits of going natural. I've been perming for many years and as most of know, that's a HARD habit to kick.
Maybe this is just a pain in the neck until my hair reaches shoulder length. I just don't know. I'd appreciate any product suggestions that have an impact on super kinky, super thick, Extra course, tight hair. What are my styling options? HELP! Just to save some time I've tried Ms. Jessie's buttercreme/curly pudding, and most hair moisturizing cremes. They just make my hair look ashy. Right now I use Dax for oiling and Vigorol's beeswax for twists.
Talk at me~
From The Sistah writing this blog from home after 9pm who is still wearing her wig. OK...I'll go take it off. Dang!

My failing conversion to a natural hair style Pt.1
Everyday I read posts by other black women about the benefits of wearing natural hair. I've read books, I've loooked at numerous websites, I've read the magazines, and I feel decieved! The women in those photos have agreeable looking hair textures that would make this transition feasible. What about the sisters who have "real" black hair??? I have come to conclusion that the only way I can stay natural is to lock my hair.
My hair is very thick, extremely coarse, dry and very difficult to manage. My hair is nearly shoulder length if I have the strength (not to mention 3-5 hours of free time) to properly press it out. BUT, when it's wet it curls back up into itself so that I have the look of a short fro. Heaven help me if I let it dry up like that---it won't be pretty!!
This is my second attempt at working with my natural hair in the recent years. My first attempt began when I was pregnant with my son in 2003-4. I cut off all the perm out of my hair (no patience for the other grow out processes), then spent the next year wearing plaits, cornrows and braids..under a series of wigs.
It's important to add that I had a very high profile, professional position at the time so my "rough" looking natural could not go on display at this stage. I continued on like this for a few more months until my hair had reached shoulder length. I had tired of wearing wigs and could not get the polished look that I wanted so after about 14-15 months of trying to work with my natural hair, I cracked and got a perm!!!
I swear, I did it solely for the convenience and ease of styling! I felt so ashamed at giving up, but my hair was a major time killer. Did I mention the 3 children under 10, husband, house, & dog? I couldn't figure out how to make this work for me!
